Mark Taylor will continue to be brand ambassador of Australia’s Favourite Air, Fujitsu General, for another three years, taking the partnership to 24 years. Taylor partnered with Fujitsu General in 1998, launching one of the longest continuous personal endorsement agreements in Australia to date.
Considered one of Australia’s most successful and respected Australian cricket captains, Taylor’s career highlights include TV cricket commentator and 1999 Australian of the Year. In 2003 he was inducted into Sport Australia’s Hall of Fame and received a Centenary Medal for his services to the community and cricket.
Taylor’s commitments outside of cricket were also recognised in 2003 when he was appointed an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO) for his outstanding contribution to cricket and support of organisations involved in fundraising for cancer research, including Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation, which he co-founded in 1997.
As Fujitsu General celebrates 45 years in the Australian market this year, it continues to strive to be the best air conditioning company to deal with in Australia, not just a leading air conditioning brand. This commitment to being an accessible brand aligns with the values of respected Australians like Mark Taylor.
Nick Fordham, CEO of The Fordham Company, which represents Mark Taylor, says the partnership has been cleverly, strategically and successfully executed. “Mark has become an integral adjunct to the Fujitsu air conditioning brand. However, the association between Mark and Fujitsu General has also led to an important and most beneficial sponsorship by Fujitsu of the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation, of which Mark is Chairman.”
General Manager - Sales and Marketing for Fujitsu General, Dave Smith, says, “Our relationship with Mark has spanned in excess of 20 years and there is an enormous amount of respect between us and this has enabled the business relationship to thrive. Mark’s role as ambassador started when Mark became a Fujitsu General customer. He liked the products, his management approached us, and we have all worked very closely since then to ensure we integrate Mark into the business as much as possible.
“He really is a member of the Fujitsu General Australia family. Our staff and customers know him well and his personable manner has made that so easy. Our values are strongly aligned to Marks and include being caring and respectful, collaborative and inclusive. Mark is seen as a respected expert in his field, as is Fujitsu General, making for a great partnership.
“We have worked closely with Mark on his charity Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation. The Fujitsu General business has built a CSR program around this partnership, with a percentage of sales going towards the funding of outreach programs and exploring better ways to treat and overcome cancer. To date Fujitsu General has donated more than $7M to this worthy cause.
“We look forward to continuing our partnership with Mark and we are excited about the future and the growth we have planned.”
