Vinnies CEO Sleepout
Fujitsu General Australia’s Managing Director, Philip Perham, participated in his third Vinnies CEO Sleepout event in Sydney on Thursday 17th June.
Philip joined more than 350 CEOs across Australia, experiencing a sleepout over one night with nothing more than a beanie, a sheet of cardboard, and a cup of soup. The event helps to raise vital funds and awareness to support Australians who are homeless and living in poverty
The annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout is a chance for business and community leaders to experience a glimpse of the hardship homelessness brings to families and individuals every day across Australia. More than 105,000 people throughout Australia face sleeping on the streets. Without the support of family or friends, it’s very hard to break the homelessness cycle and get back on two feet. The sleepout is an opportunity for leaders to raise awareness across our respective companies and organisations, while offering support in raising vital funds to support the services provided by Vinnies, with the ultimate goal of reducing homelessness and poverty.
Our purpose as a business is to provide Australians with indoor comfort all year round. Having a bed to sleep in at night in a comfortable and safe home environment should be accessible to everyone.
The Vinnies CEO Sleepout was founded in 2006 by Bernard Fehon, Managing Director, Tactical Solutions, starting as a local community venture in Sydney’s Parramatta. In 2010 it grew to a national event, with almost 700 CEOs in seven cities taking part. Money raised funds Vinnies homeless services across Australia, which provide thousands of people with a safe place to sleep, a nutritious meal, and support in getting out of poverty.
Philip Perham’s personal fundraising target is $50,000 and donations can be made via the fundraising page.
